Annotation:

The author of this book, Jennifer Freyd, is the author of several important books on the topic of trauma and memory in psychology.  She is on the faculty of the University of Oregon and her articles and books are often cited in the literature.  The book, written in 1996, remains relevant and important in the field of psychology.  The book was published by the reputed Harvard University Press. There is substantial evidence in the book supported by numerous studies.  The list of references spans 18 pages.  Freyd is purportedly a victim of childhood trauma which may influence her interest in this topic but the strength of the evidence cited in her book supports her own experience.
